The data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed the ranking of the 10 most important foreign nationalities that obtained work permits in the private and investment sectors in 2021.
The order of nationalities came as follows:
India has 1,205 foreign workers, or 9% of the total.
China 1085 foreign workers, or 8.1% of the total.
Russia has 1040 foreign workers, or 7.8% of the total.
Syria has 965 foreign workers, or 7.2% of the total.
The United Kingdom has 799 foreign workers, or 6% of the total.
Bangladesh has 776 foreign workers, or 5.8% of the total.
The United States of America has 596 foreign workers, or 4.5% of the total.
Lebanon has 515 foreign workers, or 3.9% of the total.
Türkiye has 491 foreign workers, or 3.7% of the total.
Italy has 470 foreign workers, 3.5% of the total.

Manpower directorates represent the first place in terms of issuing work permits for foreigners in the private and investment sectors in Egypt in 2022, as the number of work permits issued reached 6,661, or 50%, and investment offices come in second place, with 4,588 permits, or 34.4%, then corporate offices. With 1136 licenses, representing 8.5%, then petroleum offices, with 946 licenses, representing 7.1% of the total licenses granted to foreigners to work in the private and investment sectors in 2022.
