The Building Violations Reconciliation Law approved the submission of reconciliation requests to the competent administrative authority within 6 months from the effective date of the executive regulations of this law.
Article 6 of the law stipulates: “The reconciliation request shall be submitted to the competent administrative authority within a period not exceeding six months from the date of implementation of the executive regulations of this law, after paying an examination fee paid in cash or by any means of non-cash payment stipulated in the law regulating the use of means of payment.” Non-cash payment issued by Law No. 18 of 2019, not exceeding five thousand pounds, and payment for the seriousness of reconciliation and legalization of the situation at a rate not exceeding 25% of it. The executive regulations of this law determine the categories of fees and percentages in exchange for the seriousness of reconciliation and legalization of the situation.
By decision of the Prime Minister, after the approval of the Council of Ministers, the period referred to in the previous paragraph may be extended for other similar periods, not exceeding a total of three years.
The competent administrative authority must give the applicant for reconciliation a certificate stating that he has submitted it, on the form specified by the executive regulations of this law, bearing his number, the date of his registration, and the documents attached to it.
Submitting this certificate to the court or the competent authorities, as the case may be, will result in stopping the consideration of lawsuits related to the violation, and halting the implementation of the rulings, decisions, and procedures issued regarding the violating actions that are the subject of this request until it is decided upon or the grievance is resolved, as the case may be. The reconciliation request shall be considered as if it had not been six months after the applicant for reconciliation received the aforementioned certificate and did not complete the prescribed documents and procedures.
